The Going lake is located right on the edge of the forest with a panoramic view of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, which are close enough to touch. There is a white sand beach and a separate shallow bay for children and non-swimmers. The water warms up to a comfortable 24 degrees. It also has a hundred meter long open-air water slide and an extra-wide slide. It makes for a fun day in the most beautiful natural bathing lake in Tyrol, a holiday hit.
Kaiserbad Ellmau
The Kaiserbad in Ellmau offers its guests an amazing swimming experience with an indoor adventure pool and flow channel into the outdoor pool. HIKING
BergWelt & Wilder Kaiser
The striking rock towers of the Wilder Kaiser mountains are the landmark of the Wilder Kaiser region in Tyrol. Hiking trails lead through mountain forests, then alpine meadows interspersed with steep stone walls and deeply cut cliffs. The Bergwelt offers the gently rising grassy mountains of the Northern Kitzbühel Alps and are much easier to hike thanks to gondola lifts and panoramic trails. They offer a spectacular view of the of the Wilder Kaiser mountains.
Multi-day hikes in the Wilder Kaiser
Discover the Tyrolean Eagle Walk, the first three stages of which lead through the Kaiser Mountains along the rugged cliffs of the mighty Wilder Kaiser, or make a pilgrimage along the Tyrolean Way of St. James. We also recommend the 3-day hut hike – starting from Going and hiking from hut to hut to Hintersteinersee and on to Scheffau. There is also the Kaiserkrone – a 5 day hike all the way around the Wilder Kaiser.
1st Kneipp adventure village in Tyrol
Since 2007, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser has been the “1st Kneipp for me® adventure village” in Tyrol and invites you to seven adventure and relaxation stations along the Kneipp circular path. “Birth and Renewal” is the name of the first section of the Tyrolean Eagle Walk in the Wilder Kaiser above Scheffau. The eagle can also be found in the Scheffau coat of arms and so the Kneipp facility is dedicated to this motto and the king of the air.
BIKE ADVENTURES
Mountainbike and E-Bike
The towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll belong to the world’s largest e-bike region “Kitzbüheler Alpen – Kaisergebirge”. The Wilder Kaiser region also offers six guided mountain bike tours every week from May to October for different riding levels, starting in Going. More Info →
CLIMBING
Most historic climbing mountains in Austria, and have been for generations. Well-known names routes such as Totenkirchl, Fleischbank-Ostwand or Predigtstuhl arouse awe and sporting ambition among alpinists. In addition to the alpine classics on the Wilder Kaiser, numerous sport climbing routes were created in the Achleiten, Multerkarwand and Schleierwasserfall climbing gardens, many of which were developed by the Bavarian extreme climber “Huber Buam”. Newcomers to climbing will find reliable partners in the mountain guides of the Wilder Kaiser region for their first climbing experience.

SUMMER NIGHT
Tuesday - Ellmau
Every Tuesday from 6 p.m. the entire village street in Ellmau becomes a car-free strolling street with stalls where bakers, butchers and innkeepers serve up their specialties such as donuts, dumplings and sausages. In between, various live bands play traditional as well as modern music. Enjoy the relaxed market atmosphere with stands with regional products, sit down and relax with a beer or a glass of wine.
Craft Market
Friday - Going
A lot of original flair has been preserved in the Kaiser community of Going, so it is hardly surprising that a very special tradition has been cultivated here for over 20 years. On six Friday evenings in summer, almost forgotten customs come to life on the picturesque little village square. When craftsmen, artists and farmers from the village and the surrounding area take a seat at their stalls, the streets leading to the market are transformed into nothing but small open-air studios.

Friday - Söll
Cozy get-togethers, live music and culinary delights: In summer, the Söller Freitag invites you to enjoy yourself from May 20th to September 30th, 2022 under the motto “Summer Chill”. Every Friday from 6 p.m., the participating hosts open the doors for you in the village center and conjure up special dishes and drinks. Live music accompanies you atmospherically through the evening.
